CRD Residuals Treatment Facility
The project is located within the District of Saanich that is the regional solid waste disposal facility owned and operated by the CRD. Residual solids from the McLoughlin Point Wastewater Plant will be piped to the Residuals Treatment Facility at Hartland Landfill, where they will be treated and turned into what are known as Class A biosolids. These biosolids are a high quality by-product suitable for beneficial use. JDG part consists of 6 buildings housing the most sophisticated equipment for wastewater treatment:
- Residual Handling Building with pitched and flat roof portions, and a total footprint of 34 m x 33.33 m = 12,200 ft2
- Dryer Building, flat roof with two different height portions, and a total footprint of 34 m x 16.2 m = 5,930 ft2
- Digester Building, with a flat roof and a footprint of 19.3 m x 19.3 m = 4,000 ft2
- Equalization Building, with a pitched roof and a footprint of 8.3 m x 10.3 m = 920 ft2
- Water Pump House Building, with a pitched roof and a footprint of 6.047 m x 8.4 m = 550 ft2
- Operations Building, with a flat roof and a footprint of 16.7 m x 39.75 m = 7,145 ft2
